Veronica brings more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit management to the role of Executive Director and CEO. Dedicated to the nonprofit sector throughout her career, she previously held leadership positions at the American Red Cross (serving Greater Long Beach, the South Bay, and Southeast LA), Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Netzel Grisby (a consulting firm specializing in nonprofit capital campaigns), MoLAA, TELACU Education Foundation, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, KCET, and the Boy Scouts of America. Veronica is a co-founder of the United Latino Fund and National Latina Alliance.
A recognized community leader, Veronica is the Board Chair of Purpose Centered Coaching and Consulting, a Board Trustee for Goodwill of Southern Los Angeles County, a member of the Rotary Club of Long Beach, and a former Commissioner for the Long Beach Citizens Police Complaint Commission. She is also a past president of Leadership Long Beach and an alumna of its Class of 2009.
Her contributions have earned her notable accolades, including the Nuestra Imagen Award from Centro Cha in 2015 and the Go Long Beach Award from Mayor Robert Garcia in 2017. In 2025, she was honored to serve as Grand Marshal for Long Beach’s 37th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade, a testament to her commitment to social justice and community empowerment.
Veronica was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley and has been a proud resident of Long Beach since 1994. She attended Citrus College and California State University, where she furthered her education in service of her lifelong commitment to community engagement and leadership. She is also a devoted mother of three and grandmother to six.
