Celina Luna brings over 15 years of experience working for elected officials and government affairs across Los Angeles and Orange counties. Celina Luna currently works for Southern California Edison as a Government Relations Manager for Long Beach, Signal Hill, Catalina Island and Hermosa Beach. In this role, she manages relationships with elected officials, local government staff and key external stakeholders. She also manages external engagement on major initiatives, programs and projects throughout the community.
Celina most recently worked for the City of Long Beach for eight years as Chief of Staff to Long Beach City Councilmember Roberto Uranga. In this capacity, she covered the Port of Long Beach and adjacent neighborhoods; and also served as Senior Advisor for matters before the California Coastal Commission. Her leadership also included developing and implementing the very first Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at the City of Long Beach and creating the Library Amnesty Program which restored borrower privileges for thousands of residents and led to the City’s permanent cancellation of overdue fines.
Prior to her service with the City of Long Beach, she worked for five years for then Los Angeles City Councilwoman, now LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn as Community Advocate for port-adjacent communities. She also worked at California State University, Fullerton in the Government and Community Relations Office where she planned University Legislative visits and student engagement opportunities.
Celina also serves as Chair of the Long Beach Job Corps Center Community Relations Council and is a nominee to serve on the Long Beach Chamber Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In her spare time, Celina enjoys exploring local hiking trails and taking time to improve her nature photography skills. She likes to try new recipes to expand the cooking skills she was able to grow while working from home during the pandemic. Her favorite restaurants in Long Beach are Lola’s, Ammatoli and Phil Trani’s.
