Tony has been a Long Beach resident since 2018, and resides on Naples Island with his wife, Christine, and their Golden Doodle, Louie. He brings a deep commitment to community and civic engagement, most recently completing a two-year term as President of the Naples Improvement Association.
A seasoned leader in higher education with more than three decades of experience, Tony has held executive roles across the sector since 1990. He served as the inaugural President of the University of Phoenix Online, playing a pivotal role in taking the organization public in 2000. From 2019 through 2021, he served as President of Claremont Lincoln University and currently serves as its Board Chair.
Tony is an experienced voice in higher education policy, having lobbied on behalf of the sector before the California State Legislature in Sacramento and the U.S. Congress.. He currently serves on the Board of Visitors for the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University.
Tony holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
