Long Beach Leaders are Readers: United States Army Veteran Steven Keesal

Steven Keesal served in Afghanistan and Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, United States Army Special Operations Command and was Grand Marshal of the 2022 Long Beach Veterans Day Celebration. He is a First Vice President – Financial Advisor with RBC Wealth Management and lives in the California Heights neighborhood with his wife Hope.

Steven's recommended book is Sermon on the Mount by Emmet Fox. “This book helps me align my perspective each morning by connecting to God before I launch into a high-intensity world. Emmet Fox helped me take faith into practical application and daily living.”

“Love, patience, and humility are essential but not always automatic ingredients in life. Heightened awareness of how we relate to others is always very valuable. This book reduces my anxieties and helps me polish my rough edges in personal interactions. I hope others get as much out of it as I do,” says Steven.

“I read constantly at work, belong to a Civil War Book Club that meets monthly, participate in Bible study, and relax with pulp fiction action novels while on vacation,” he continues. “Reading is the essential backbone of knowledge and communication. If you are able to learn and communicate, there is no limit to your accomplishments or the good you can do.”
