Over 250 Supporters to Gather for Long Beach Public Library Foundation Fundraiser
LONG BEACH, CA – On Thursday, April 16, in celebration of National Librarian Day, the Long Beach Public Library Foundation and the Art Theatre will host a special screening of The Librarians. Produced by Sarah Jessica Parker, this acclaimed documentary highlights the essential role librarians play in defending the First Amendment and upholding the foundations of democracy.
With over 250 community members, educators, and advocates expected to attend, the event serves as both a fundraiser for the Long Beach Public Library’s 12 locations and a powerful recognition of the vital services provided by library professionals. In an era of increasing book bans and digital transformation, this event underscores our libraries as sanctuaries for information access and community empowerment.
