Diane Jacobus spent her life in service to others: first to a Navy family that shaped her from childhood, then to the city of Long Beach she called home, serving as Senior Advisor to Mayor Beverly O’Neill and as Protocol Officer for the Port of Long Beach. As a longtime member and former President of the Long Beach Public Library Foundation Board of Directors, she championed literacy and access for the community, and helped build the framework that carries forward the Foundation’s mission today.
Diane passed away in April 2026, remembered by the Long Beach community she gave so much to. This fund is a continuation of Diane’s service. Join us in honoring Diane and her love for Long Beach Public Libraries by donating below.
