Dictionary Day

A dictionary is perhaps the first and most important reference tool that a child should own. Its usefulness goes beyond spelling, pronunciation and definitions; it is a companion for solving problems that arise as a child develops his or her reading, writing and creative thinking abilities. Over 23,000 third grade students throughout Long Beach have received a student dictionary from the Library Foundation, thanks to the Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation and donors like you.
