Mark Twain Family Learning Center Endowment

The donors listed below have made significant contributions during the past five years to establish a permanent endowment supporting the Jean and Charles Lane Family Learning Center at the Mark Twain Neighborhood Branch Library. This Family Learning Center is the most heavily used among all 12 Family Learning Centers in the Long Beach Public Library system.  Talented bilingual Homework Helpers are available to help children and families with homework, English language learning, reading aloud and job searches.    

These special donors are recognized by brushed steel nameplates located in various areas in the Mark Twain Library, and also on our Interactive Donor Touch Screen located in the lobby. The Mark Twain Family Learning Center Endowment Fund is invested in vehicles that generate income and protect the principal. The income is used to help pay for the Homework Helpers, computer leases, software and materials. A portion of the income is reinvested to ensure future growth.
